DESCRIPTION

The Beat of Blossoms seeks a peaceful, creative, and inquisitive artist between the ages of 17 and 21 for a paid internship. The intern will complete a range of tasks, supporting the work of Jamila Zahra Felton, while learning, improving their craft, creating art, and helping others.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as Studio and Office Assistant

• Serve as Workshop Assistant

• Serve as Marketing and PR Assistant

• Serve as Sales Assistant

DATES

• Paid internship is approximately 12-20 hours per month from November 2016 through June 2017.

 

REQUIREMENTS | KNOWLEDGE + SKILLS

• An individual between the ages of 17 and 21 who identifies as woman or transgender. Preference will be given to high school and undergraduate students of African descent.

• Must be an artist. Preference will be given to poets and paper, collage, zine and book artists.

• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Google Drive, Adobe Photoshop, and social media.

• Must possess strong creative and design skills with an interest in experimentation and exploration through art.

• Strong verbal and written communications skills.

• Must be peaceful, generous, open-minded, and empathetic. The Beat of Blossoms supports safe spaces.
